Hochevar thrilled to pitch at Fenway

For the Royals and Luke Hochevar, it's on to Boston and Fenway Park. That's where rookie Hochevar will pitch for the first time in his brief career and he's excited about the chance he'll get come Monday night.

Royals: Hochevar wasn't at his sharpest last Wednesday night but he still managed to shut out the Tigers for six innings, giving up just four singles. He showed an ability to work out of jams, important progress for a rookie, and he did it against an experienced, very dangerous lineup. This was his fifth start since being called up from Triple-A Omaha on April 20. In all but his first outing, he's pitched six or seven solid innings. With an effective sinker, he's been good at inducing ground balls, getting eight outs that way against the Tigers along with five strikeouts.

Wrong side of no-no

What can you say? All you can do is tip your cap to Jon Lester and move on. The Red Sox lefty no-hit the Royals on Monday, allowing just two walks. On the other side, Luke Hochevar hurled six innings, giving up seven runs on five hits.

Yes to history

The man who won the deciding game of the 2007 World Series for the Red Sox now has yet another amazing accomplishment under his belt. Eight months after Clay Buchholz's no-no, Jon Lester turned in the 18th no-hitter in team history.
