Mariners: Bedard had a veteran effort Saturday against San Diego. He fell behind 2-1 by the fourth inning, but hung in there and denied the Padres for the rest of his effort. He was rewarded with the win when the Mariners rallied for three runs in the seventh. Bedard allowed just two runs and five hits while striking out 10 in eight innings. Against the Yankees, Bedard is 4-4 in his career. He lost 5-1 on May 2, going seven innings, allowing four hits but just one earned run.

His last win actually came on April 20 at Baltimore, when the left-hander shut the Orioles out on four hits over seven innings, walking none and striking out five.
