Mets: Perez stretched through the seventh inning in his last start, on Friday, only the second time he's gotten through that stanza this season. He finished having allowed three hits, one run and three walks while striking out eight. After giving up six runs in one-third of an inning to start June, Perez has now put in two consecutive starts where he has allowed only one earned run.

It wasn't easy, but Jerry Manuel picked up his first win as the Mets manager when Jose Reyes scored his third run of the contest in the ninth on David Wright's game-tying RBI single and Damion Easley hit the go-ahead homer in the 10th to give the club the series win.
