Dodgers seek Freeway Series sweep

The Dodgers want to get greedy after shutting out the Angels in the first two games of this edition of the Freeway Series to clinch their first series win against the Angels since sweeping a three-game set May 19-21, 2006, at Dodger Stadium.

Dodgers probable pitcher

Derek Lowe

  • #23 RHP
  • (5-7) 4.05 ERA
Dodgers: Lowe was on his game again through seven innings against the White Sox, but Jermaine Dye took him deep in the eighth to ruin Lowe's pitching line, as well as the Dodgers' chances in the game. The Dodgers offense has scored seven runs in his seven losses. Through his last seven starts, Lowe is 3-3.

Sweep falls short

The Dodgers could not convert in an attempt to sweep the Angels, as the offense could not find its rhythm against the Angels' staff. Derek Lowe tossed seven sharp innings, allowing just one run, but was saddled with the tough-luck loss.
