Sheets has now won five straight decisions. He has pitched at least six innings in 10 consecutive starts, and in 13 of 15 starts this season. Sheets is 1-1 with a 2.18 ERA in three career starts against the Twins. He last pitched against Minnesota on June 18, 2004, when he allowed one run on four hits in six innings and got the win. In 20 2/3 innings against the Twins, he has allowed five runs.

Slowey has continued to look more comfortable on the mound after a rough start to the season. He was 0-4 with a 5.49 ERA in his first four starts. Slowey will now face the Brewers for the second time this month. He picked up the victory in that contest after allowing just two runs over eight innings.
