Bloops, a blast and a Rays win (47-50) (57-39)

Rays 6, Blue Jays 4

Halladay falters

With two on in the sixth, Roy Halladay thought he picked up a roller in foul territory. The umpire ruled it fair, and shortly thereafter, Halladay allowed a grand slam that sealed his fate. The Jays put several runs on the board in the ninth, but by then it was too late.

Longoria hits slam

Locked in a pitchers' duel, the Rays broke through in the sixth inning. A leadoff chopper, two bunt singles, a bloop to shallow center and then an Evan Longoria grand slam plated five sixth-inning runs. Cliff Floyd homered in the eighth, and Dan Wheeler closed the door.
