Myers mum about resurgence

After refocusing during a 3 1/2-week stay in the Minor Leagues, Brett Myers has posted a 2-0 record with a 2.10 ERA since rejoining the Phillies. He'll get the nod Thursday as the Phils aim to salvage the finale of a four-game series against the Dodgers.

Phillies: Myers is cruising since his return from a July Minor League stint, recording a 2-0 record with a 2.10 ERA since re-joining the Phils. On Saturday night, he limited the Pirates to one run in 7 2/3 innings, striking out six and walking one. Myers' competitive spirit got the best of him as he exchanged heated words with manager Charlie Manuel when the skipper removed him in the eighth. In nine career starts against the Dodgers, Myers is 3-1 with a 2.76 ERA.

Nomar Garciaparra hit the Dodgers' first walk-off home run in almost 16 months Wednesday night, but that's not what excited him most about the Dodgers' come-from-behind victory. "I think the biggest thrill for me today was the fact just the way our team won that game, everybody," Garciaparra said.
