Reds: Key two-out hits hurt Arroyo in a 5-3 loss to the Cardinals on Friday, including Rick Ankiel's first-inning two-run home run on a curveball that was left up. Arroyo gave up five earned runs and nine hits in 6 1/3 innings, with two walks and five strikeouts. He also threw 67 pitches through his first three innings, eventually settling down and pitching well before departing. Still, he paid for the early mistakes.
