White Sox: The left-hander threw 6 1/3 innings and gave up three runs to the Rays on Friday, and exited the game trailing 3-2. He picked up the loss despite the quality start. That?s the way it's gone for Danks this season, having lost two starts earlier to the Red Sox even though he surrendered just two runs over seven innings. He'll try to turn things around against Baltimore, against who -- not coincidentally -- he faced once this year and lost to despite a quality start. Danks allowed two runs on four hits over 6 1/3 innings.

Orioles: Liz returned to the Orioles and pitched reasonably well in his last outing, but he also gave up back-to-back home runs at one point and was gone before the end of the fifth inning. Liz, who may ultimately project as a reliever in the big leagues, has a big fastball and an inconsistent manner on the mound. The Orioles have stressed how important it is for him to maintain his confidence, and he'll be watched carefully for the rest of the year.

John Danks didn't make it to the fifth inning and the rest of the White Sox bullpen got hit hard too. Offensively, Paul Konerko and Jermaine Dye went deep, but Minnesota's win earlier in the day cut Chicago's lead in the AL Central Division to one game.
