After six days' rest, John Danks looks to take the final game of the White Sox three-game series against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium on Sunday.
White Sox probable pitcher
John Danks
- #50 LHP
- (10-8) 3.32 ERA 147 SO
White Sox: The left-hander was terrific in six shutout innings of four-hit ball against the Tigers in Game 2 of a doubleheader Sunday. He struck out six and walked only one batter. The bullpen blew a seven-run lead, so Danks did not factor in the decision. He has faced the Royals twice this year with mixed success. The latest outing against the division-rival Royals is one he might like to have back. He surrendered six runs on nine hits over four innings back on July 20. Danks will be pitching on six days' rest, but he will be available out of the bullpen in the interim.

Royals probable pitcher
Brandon Duckworth
- #31 RHP
- (3-1) 5.19 ERA 12 SO
Royals: Duckworth won for the third time in five starts on Tuesday night since being called up from Triple-A Omaha. He went six innings against the Mariners, holding them to two runs on six hits. Duckworth spent most of the summer in Triple-A, going 5-11 with a 4.75 ERA for Omaha. Prior to his promotion, he was 2-0 in four August games, so he's been sharp for a while. Duckworth has faced the White Sox six times in his career, compiling a 1-1 record and 7.27 ERA.
