Hughes looks to rebound from a tough second outing when he faces the Orioles on Saturday. After appearing sharp in his season debut on April 28 at Detroit, Hughes struggled with command and consistency on May 4 vs. the Red Sox, coming out after a two-hour, 17-minute rain delay and allowing four runs (three earned) in four innings. He walked four and struck out two, giving up a home run to Mike Lowell.

The combination of sloppy defense and Phil Hughes' ineffectiveness made for a regretful second inning, with the righty being chased before he could escape the frame. Back-to-back homers by Johnny Damon and Mark Teixeira lessened the sting on a forgettable night for the Yanks.
