Bill Hall has struggled against right-handed pitching since 2007, but will remain in the starting lineup Thursday night against Houston's Roy Oswalt in hopes of breaking his lingering skid.
Brewers probable pitcher
Jeff Suppan
- #37 RHP
- (3-3) 4.63 ERA 23 SO
Suppan was stupendous against his former club on Saturday, holding the Cardinals scoreless on six hits in seven of his best innings this season. It marked the first time this year that Suppan took a shutout into the fifth inning, but he has been a consistent innings-eater for Milwaukee, working at least six frames in five of his last six outings while posting a 2.77 ERA. He took a no-decision in Houston on April 25, when Suppan allowed four runs, three of them earned, on four hits in six innings. He struck out a season-high six batters in that game.

Though a game later than planned, Michael Bourn will lead off for the Astros as they finish their series with the Brewers, taking some of the pressure off a struggling Kazuo Matsui.
Astros probable pitcher
Roy Oswalt
- #44 RHP
- (1-2) 4.50 ERA 35 SO
Oswalt turned in another quality outing in his last start vs. the Cubs, but took a no-decision in an eventual Houston loss. Oswalt yielded three runs over six innings, but the Astros didn't score until he was already out of the game. The Astros have scored one or no runs six times this year when Oswalt is on the mound. Oswalt has not faced the Brewers yet this year. In 2008, he was 2-0 with a 2.77 ERA in two starts vs. Milwaukee. Lifetime, he's 13-8 with a 3.59 ERA.

Crew calm and collected (26-15) (18-21)
Brewers 4, Astros 3
The Brewers took advantage of a run-saving close call in the fifth, then rallied for three runs in the seventh, tying the game on Prince Fielder's two-run single and going ahead on Corey Hart's RBI double, both with two outs. The 'pen hung on for the win, tossing three scoreless frames to secure the rubber game vs. the Astros in Houston.

With ace Roy Oswalt keeping the Brewers at bay, a close play at home that ended the fifth frame and led to the ejections of Lance Berkman and Cecil Cooper seemed as if it wouldn't play an important role in the outcome. But the 'pen couldn't hold Oswalt's lead in the seventh, and Houston was left to wonder what could have been.
