Dodgers manager Joe Torre hasn't formally announced his decision, but Weaver is expected to make his first start since May 20 because injured starter Eric Stults will not by ready and Eric Milton isn't eligible to come off the disabled list until Sunday. Coincidentally, Weaver would be scheduled to start against his brother, Jered, on Saturday. It will mark the first time the two brothers have pitched against each other.

With all the talk of Jered and Jeff Weaver dueling each other for the first time on Saturday, nearly lost in the shuffle is the fact that Jered Weaver could become the first of the two brothers to be selected to an All-Star team this year.

Turning up the heat in his bid for his first All-Star Game appearance, Weaver is coming off the first complete-game shutout of his career, a dominant five-hit effort against the Padres at home on Sunday.
