Dempster did notch his ninth quality start in his last game against the White Sox, but he also walked six over six-plus innings. He took the loss, and of his 104 pitches, only 51 were strikes. That's not a good ratio. It was the 14th time in his career the right-hander has walked six or more in a game, and the first since July 25, 2008. Dempster has gone six or more innings in all but one start this year. He was 1-0 last year against the Braves, but is just 2-10 lifetime.
