On Thursday night, Dodgers starter Randy Wolf, who is 11-5 in his career vs. the Mets, will try to extend his mastery of them in their new digs at Citi Field.

Dodgers probable pitcher

Randy Wolf

  • #43 LHP
  • (3-3) 3.49 ERA 82 SO
In his last start, Wolf delivered another quality start for the Dodgers against the Padres and, naturally, came away with his 12th no-decision of the year when Ronald Belisario let a 2-1 lead get away. Wolf allowed one run on four hits in six innings, striking out eight without issuing a walk. He's a Mets killer from his days in Philadelphia, with an 11-5 lifetime mark against New York (6-1 at Shea Stadium), including 2-0 last year.

The Mets will gun for a few more rarities on Thursday night, looking for a second consecutive win, a series victory and a win over longtime nemesis Randy Wolf.

Mets probable pitcher

Livan Hernandez

  • #61 RHP
  • (5-4) 4.56 ERA 51 SO
Hernandez lost his third successive start and the Mets lost for the fifth time in his last five starts, against the Phillies on Friday night. He surrendered 10 hits, four walks and, for the second time this season, seven runs. One of the hits was a home run by Jayson Werth, but Citizens Bank Park's dimensions had little else to do with his performance. He faced the Dodgers in L.A. on May 20, allowed one run in seven innings and wasn't involved in the decision in a 2-1 Mets loss. Now he has 3-2 record and 3.53 ERA in eight starts against them since the beginning of the 2006 season.

Mark of the Wolf at Citi Field (54-31) (40-44)

Dodgers 11, Mets 2

LA leaves no doubt

After a close loss on Wednesday night, the Dodgers took no chances in the rubber game, jumping on Livan Hernandez for four runs in the first inning and two more in the second. Manny Ramirez drove in two and Orlando Hudson hit a three-run double to back Randy Wolf, who is now 6-1 in his past 10 starts vs. the Mets.

No luck for Livan

The Mets found themselves in a sizable hole before they even took their first cuts, as the Dodgers scored four off Livan Hernandez in the first inning and kept the heat on. Though the Mets got good cuts against team nemesis Randy Wolf, they couldn't avoid losing their fifth game out of their past six contests.
