Cliff Lee will certainly carry a sense of confidence to the mound Monday, when he has the opportunity to help the Phillies take one more step toward returning to the World Series.

While making his first career postseason appearance in Game 1 at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday afternoon, Lee fell one out shy of completing a shutout. The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner also limited the Rockies to one run and six hits in seven innings on Aug. 6. Now Lee will be asked to conquer the challenge that will be presented as he pitches in Coors Field for the first time in his career. During Wednesday's dominant effort, the 31-year-old left-hander had retired 16 straight batters before surrendering a two-out seventh-inning double. The frigid conditions that were present this weekend are supposed to disappear before Monday, when game-time temperature is projected to be in the low 50s.

Jimenez feels no pressure for Game 4

For the second time in six days, Colorado pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez will get a crack at the Phillies in the National League Division Series, a welcome opportunity for him given how his start in Game 1 began and ended.

Jimenez was strong for nearly four innings in Game 1, until he started missing up in the zone and over the plate. He gave up five runs in five innings and took a 5-1 loss. It's possible that if the Rockies had made the most of their chances in the first two innings, he'd have been in better position. But Jimenez did not pitch to his regular-season standards, when he went six innings in 29 of his 33 starts. He was 8-5 with a 3.4 ERA in 15 starts at Coors Field this season.

Phillies vault past Rockies to advance (3-1) (1-3)

    Champs rally back

The Phillies were one out away from the Rockies forcing a decisive Game 5 after Ryan Madson couldn't hold a lead in the eighth, but Ryan Howard slugged a two-run double to tie it and Jayson Werth followed with a go-ahead RBI single to send Philadelphia to the NLCS vs. the Dodgers.

    Leap rally snuffed

Dexter Fowler's leap over Chase Utley that fueled a go-ahead rally in the eighth inning stood to be the story of the game, but the Rockies' season abruptly ended when closer Huston Street gave up three runs in the ninth, erasing clutch hits by Jason Giambi and Yorvit Torrealba.
