1. How do I access HD Quality Picture

If a game is streamed in HD, you may receive an HD quality picture with a subscription to MLB.TV Premium, installation of our NexDef software, and an Internet connection with consistent bandwidth of at least 3 Mbps. NexDef enables MLB.TV Premium subscribers to view HD Quality video streams, LIVE game DVR functionality, and more. We also recommend that you install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 10.

2. Do you have NexDef?

Check to see if you have both HD Quality streams or LIVE game DVR Functionality.

  1. If the last three bars in the video quality control bars are black with yellow outline (and not green), then you do not have the latest version of NexDef downloaded.
  2. If you do not have the ability to pause and rewind LIVE game action, you do not have the latest version of NexDef.
  3. When trying to click on these features, the player may prompt you to install or upgrade NexDef, as displayed below. Follow the links in the prompt to install NexDef.

Alternately, you can download NexDef from our Download Center. If you have any questions, contact the MLB.TV Support Forum.

3. Where do I download NexDef?

Whether you have a Mac or PC you may install NexDef from our Download Center. NexDef enables MLB.TV Premium subscribers to view HD Quality video stream, LIVE game DVR functionality, and more.

Each game will be available approximately 90 minutes after the conclusion of the game as an archived game (archived games are blackout free).

In addition, note:

  • These blackout restrictions apply regardless of whether a Club is home or away and regardless of whether or not a game is televised in a Club's home television territory..
  • All live Toronto Blue Jays games are blacked out throughout the entire country of Canada.
  • Additional teams may also be subject to blackout in parts of Canada based on their region.

11. I understand MLB.com's blackout policy and think that I might be blacked out in error, what do I do next?

If you believe you are receiving the blackout message in error, please call our Customer Support toll free in the U.S. and Canada at (866) 800-1275 for further assistance.

Note: If you are traveling and are accessing the Internet through your company's VPN connection (or other secure network connection), you might be getting a blackout message because your company's host IP Address is within the restricted range for the game that you are trying to access. In this case, we suggest that you try the following: log off your company's VPN connection (or other secure network connection) and access the Internet through a local connection. You should also disable any proxies that you are using.

If you feel that you are still being blacked out incorrectly, please call our dedicated traveler line to speak with a Customer Service representative at 1-888-632-5048.

12. Can I access my subscription from any computer, anywhere, at anytime?

Yes, but you will be subject to that areas blackout restrictions. See the answer to FAQ#10 for a description of blackouts. You can also search areas for blackouts here. As long as the computer meets the system requirements then you can log in with your registered email address and password to access your subscription from anywhere at anytime.

13. Can I share my account with others?

No. Sharing of your username and password is strictly prohibited.

14. I am trying to access a game and I am getting an error message that I am already logged in on another computer, what should I do?

In rare cases, customers have forgotten to log out of their account on one computer and have tried to log in again on a separate computer. Since sharing of a single username and password is strictly prohibited and does not work, you will get an error message. If you receive such an error message, please contact Customer Support toll free in the U.S. at (866) 800-1275.

15. The game has started, but the link to view the game live is not available, what do I do?

You may need to reload the page where you are waiting for the link to go live. Click the Refresh button in your browser

16. Should I log in first or can I go straight to the game?

You can do either one. If you click to view a game before logging in to the website, the window that opens to play the game will prompt you to log in.

17. I tried to log in to view the game and received a message telling me that I have logged in too many times, or am logged in on multiple computers, what should I do?

First off, please make sure that other people are not using your account. If you have shared your account information with other people, then your account may be prevented from logging in. If you are worried that others are accessing your account, you should change your password under your account profile.

The best way to prevent this error from occurring is to log out of MLB.com every time you are finished watching games by clicking the Logout button on the top right of any MLB.com page. The next time that you would like to watch a game, click on the link to load the game, and it will prompt you to login before launching the game. If this message has already come up for you, and you are sure that no one else is using your account, log out of MLB.com, close all of your open browser windows and quit your browser, then re-launch your browser, and click on the game that you would like to watch, where you will be prompted to log in again.

18. How can I access Gameday Audio using an ADA compatible browser? You can reach the Accessible Gameday Audio page by navigating to the Audio & Video drop down menu on the top of any MLB.com page. From that menu select "Accessible Gameday Audio".

On the right side of the page that you are brought to, is a listing of the games for that day. Further to the right of this listing are links for both the Home and Away audio feeds of each game. These links will go live shortly before the game begins.

If you would like to access a game from a different date, you can do so by clicking on the "Open Calender", "Previous Day", or "Next Day" links located above the game listings.

Once you click on the link for a game, if you are not already logged in to MLB.com you will be prompted to enter your login information. If you are not a Gameday Audio subscriber, click on the Buy Now button to the right of the login prompt to purchase a subscription.

When you log in with a Gameday Audio account, the game will begin playing. To the left side of the page is a media player where you can access Play, Pause, and Volume Up or Down buttons.
