System Requirements

Before purchasing any multimedia product on MLB.com, please review our System Requirements. If your system does not meet these requirements, you will not be able to use our products and/or will not receive the highest quality stream.

  2. Recommended Profiles

    MLB.com runs in most current browsers and operating systems. To watch or listen to MLB.com video and/or current MLB.TV Premium, MLB.TV, and/or MLB.com Gameday Audio content, you need Adobe Flash Player 9.0.115 (or above) installed on your computer. See Section 3. Flash Player Requirements for more information. Some features may be limited or unavailable if you are running a configuration that is not recommended. The following profiles are recommended for a standard MLB.com experience. Note: If your computer is more than approximately three (3) years old, then you may experience technical difficulties when attempting to use MLB.TV or MLB.TV Premium.

    Windows Minimal Profile:

    1. Internet Connection: A high speed broadband Internet Connection (Cable, DSL, T1) is required to stream MLB.TV content.
    2. AOL Users: AOL Version 9 is supported. However, please note that running the AOL environment may consume a substantial amount of the computer's memory and processor, thereby potentially disrupting performance. MLB.com does not support AOL versions earlier than Version 9.
    3. 64-Bit Versions of Windows: Adobe Flash Player is not yet compatible with 64-bit Internet browsers. 64-bit versions of Windows have both a 64-bit and 32-bit browser installed. You will need to install Flash Player in the 32-bit browser and use that browser for MLB.TV and Gameday Audio.
    4. Other General Settings:
      1. JavaScript turned ON: This is the standard setting for all browsers. The site will not work if JavaScript is turned off.
      2. Cookies enabled: This is the standard setting for all browsers. If cookies are disabled, you may encounter login errors and experience difficulties viewing certain content.
      3. Pop-up and Ad Blockers Disabled: Some applications, such as the MLB.TV Media Player and MLB.com Gameday Audio, are launched in a separate pop-up window. You may not be able to launch these applications properly if you have a Pop-up or Ad Blocker enabled.

  3. Flash Player Requirements

    The MLB.TV Media Player is built on Adobe Flash Player and requires Flash Player 9.0.115 or higher to function. The MLB.TV Media Player will operate with Flash Player 9.0.115; Flash Player 10, however, is required for better performance. For Adobe Flash Player 10 System Requirements, please click here. Flash Player 9.0.115 or higher is also required to view highlights and other videos on MLB.com.

  4. HD Quality Picture

    If a game is streamed in HD, you may receive an HD quality picture with subscription to MLB.TV Premium, installation of our NexDef software, and an Internet connection with consistent bandwidth of at least 3Mbps. We also recommend you install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 10. Our highest quality HD feed streams at 3Mbps and is a 720p resolution. You may install NexDef from our Download Center. If you do not have MLB.TV Premium, NexDef, or the recommended amount of bandwidth, we recommend you choose one of our lower quality streams.

  5. Archives from the 2008 Season and Earlier

    Archives from seasons prior to 2009 may require additional plug-ins. For Windows, Microsoft Silverlight 1.x (or higher) or Windows Media Player 9.x (or higher) may be required. For Macintosh, Microsoft Silverlight 1.x (or higher) or Flip4Mac 2.x may be required. All of these programs can be accessed in our Download Center.

  6. MLB.com Gameday Audio Requirements

    MLB.com Gameday Audio works on most browsers with Flash Player 9.0.115 (or higher) installed and with Internet connection speed higher than 512 Kbps.
