March 6, 1987 > Veteran Andre Dawson signs a one-year deal with the Cubs for the bargain price of $650,000. "The Hawk" expects the natural grass at Wrigley Field to be kind to his aching knees, but nobody expects the kind of season he has in store. 49 home runs and 137 RBIs later, Dawson will be named the NL MVP.
