The National League defeated the American League for the first time, 4-3, scoring twice in the second and twice more in the fifth, while Dizzy Dean and Carl Hubbell held their rivals scoreless through six.
1936: DiMiaggio Debut
The Senior Circuit notched its first All-Star Game victory behind the strong arms of Dizzy Dean and Carl Hubbell. Cubs outfielder Augie Galan smacked a circuit clout as the NL built a 4-0 lead before the Americans finally broke through in the seventh with three tallies. Rookie Joe DiMaggio made the last out of the game on a fly ball, taking an 0-for-5 collar in his first All-Star Game appearance.
