This Day in Baseball History:
June 7, 1973 > The Texas Rangers select heralded high school pitcher David Clyde with the first pick of the amateur draft. Clyde will turn out to be a bust, but two future members of the 3,000-hit club -- Robin Yount and Dave Winfield -- are taken with the third and fourth picks, by the Milwaukee Brewers and San Diego Padres, respectively.
