Baseball Hall of FameSecond Week in October
On Oct. 8, 1956, Don Larsen of the New York Yankees wore this cap when he pitched the first -- and only -- perfect game in World Series history. Throwing only 97 pitches at Yankee Stadium, the veteran right-hander shut down a powerful Brooklyn Dodgers lineup that included Gil Hodges, Jackie Robinson and Duke Snider. With Larsen's 2-0 victory, the Yankees took a three-games-to-two lead over the Dodgers.
