Baseball Hall of FameFourth Week in November
On Nov. 26, 1960, the relocated American League team in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul settled on the nickname "Twins" to represent its franchise. The Twins, who featured the patch pictured here on their early uniforms, had recently moved from Washington, where they were known as the Senators. Despite having stars like Harmon Killebrew and Bob Allison in the everyday lineup, the Twins finished their inaugural season in Minnesota with a record of 70-90, placing them seventh in the 10-team American League.
