Baseball Hall of FameFourth Week in December
On Dec. 30, 1935, future Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Koufax would make his Major League debut in 1955, but did not blossom into stardom until the early 1960s. The hard-throwing left-hander won three Cy Young Awards, including the 1965 award pictured here, and helped the Los Angeles Dodgers to two World Series titles before retiring due to an arthritic elbow in 1966.
