Patrick Carroll joined SABR in the early 1990s and served as chair of the UK/Europe History Committee, now transformed into the Origins Committee. He has written a number of baseball-connected articles; "Baseball in Graceland" appeared in the SABR publication The National Pastime and he also contributed the chapters on Sport & Leisure to the Hamlyn books Traditions - New York City and Traditions - Dublin.
Carroll, who was born in Chicago and grew up in Greenwich Village, NYC, moved to London in the mid-1970s where he continued to root for the New York Mets, his adopted team after the Dodgers broke his heart and moved to Brooklyn.
