Of all the impressive feats accomplished by the Minor Leagues' top players this past season, MLB.com has narrowed it down to just the best of the best with the 2008 Minor League Baseball Yearly Awards.
Matt Wieters has been touted as one of the game's best talents since talks about the 2007 Draft began. Yet somehow, he managed to exceed even those expectations in his first professional season. The Orioles catching prospect was named the Best Overall Hitter in 2008 after batting a combined .355 with an OPS of 1.053 in 2008. Roberto Lopez's .400 season, Michael Stanton's power, Lou Montanez's triple crown, Carlos Santana's success in two organizations and Nelson Cruz's break-out season also warranted MiLBYs at their respective levels.
