Throughout his Minor League career, Snider has done well against both lefties and righties, hitting .285 against southpaws and .305 against righties. Those numbers were somewhat more skewed during his time in the Minors in 2008, when he hit .244 vs. LHP and .286 vs. RHP. In 98 Double-A games, his OPS was .905 against righties and just .595 when he faced southpaws.
Scouting report: He possesses a legitimate big-league bat with power to all fields. He has a good approach at the plate and a strong arm that plays well in right field. With his stocky build, people will always be watching his conditioning, but he's a decent athlete.
Upside potential: Prototypical run-producing right fielder with good power and average numbers.
They said it: "Travis is an extremely mature person for 20 years old. He is obviously a very talented player, but he grasped the idea of what it was going to take to be a successful player immediately. He has an ability to make adjustments quickly. He will be a big part of our future." -- Blue Jays Farm Director Dick Scott
He said it: "I just tried to come out here and give the fans something to watch. I know they've been anticipating this a little bit and I definitely have, too. Fortunately, I was able to come out here and come up with some hits in certain situations." -- Snider on his debut in Toronto
