ANAHEIM, Calif. -- It would almost be easier for Giants fans if there were a Bill Buckner to blame.

If there were one lone error that accounted for how San Francisco blew Game 6 of the World Series despite holding a five-run lead with eight outs remaining, it might be easier to swallow. After all, when the Red Sox were in the Giants' position in the 1986 Fall Classic, Buckner's error was clearly the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back as Boston went on to lose Game 7 and the World Series.

But there was no Buckner on Saturday night. It was Felix Rodriguez and Tim Worrell. It was Barry Bonds and Robb Nen. And, ultimately, it was an entire team that collectively stumbled toward the finish line in a 6-5 loss at Edison Field, setting up a dramatic Game 7 to decide the world championship.  More >

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Anaheim Angels' magical, mystical, improbable and historic 2002 season of resiliency and rallies continues.

Anaheim, down five runs in the seventh inning, came back to stun the San Francisco Giants, 6-5, before 44,506 at Edison Field, and even the World Series at 3-3, setting up a winner-take-all Game 7 on Sunday.

Trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Scott Spiezio hit a three-run homer to cut the lead to two.

Then, in the bottom of the eighth, the Angels mounted their final surge.  More >
