	The Deal: The Dodgers earn the honor of hosting Maddux's glorious sunset, as the 327-game winner lends his arm and smarts to what they hope will be a furious stretch drive. The Las Vegas resident is eager to pitch in the Pacific Time zone for the first time in his 21-year career. In Izturis, the Cubs get a fleet, line-drive hitting second baseman seven years younger then the one they'd dealt earlier in the day, Todd Walker. More Coverage: LA \| CHC

	IF Julio Lugo	SS Joel Guzman OF Sergio Pedroza
	The Deal: The Dodgers swooped in to bag Lugo, one of the most desirable infielders on the market, by offering two high-ceiling prospects. Lugo won't win any Gold Gloves but has punch (.301, with 12 homers) and speed (18 steals). Guzman and Pedroza, both 22, have been productive Minor Leaguers. Ryan Klesko

A contender should expect to be willing to absorb about one-sixth of his $10 million salary -- with some assistance from the Padres, who have no room for Klesko at first base with Adrian Gonzalez emerging as a potential star.
