Fantasy: Who to watch for this weekend

Welcome to The Weekender
Just because a team like the Red Sox have won before, there's no good reason why they shouldn't celebrate -- with the fans -- a postseason berth.  More >
Our Man Friday
OK, it's not really a man. Maybe "grand old lady," but it's not even human. Nevertheless, there's no doubting that The House that Ruth Built has taken on a life of its own. So congratulations, Yankee Stadium, you're Our Man Friday. You went out in high style last Sunday night, doing what you've always done best: providing baseball fans everywhere with memories and goosebumps galore.
Blogs
It's almost October. Ready to get Gonzo? Well, get on over to October Gonzo, where postseason 2008 is being celebrated already on MLBlogs.

PREVIEWS: CHC | MIL
Indians at White Sox
The AL Central crown will come down to what happens in this series and in Minnesota, where the Royals visit.
PREVIEWS: CLE | CWS
Lines of the Week
HITTING
Jason Kubel, Twins
Sept. 23 vs. CWS: Befitting Minnesota's season of mostly unsung heroics (at least nationally), Kubel came up huge to help his club win one of its biggest games of the season, opening and closing the Twins' scoring with long balls.
4 AB, 3 H, 2 HR, 1 3B, 3 RBIs, 3 R
PITCHING
Johan Santana, Mets
Sept. 23 vs. CHC: If the Mets miss out on the playoffs again, they won't be able to blame their ace. Santana, who also singled and scored twice while beating the Cubs, is 8-0 with a 2.26 ERA in 16 starts down the stretch.
8 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 10 K, 2 BB, 125 pitches
SPOKEN
Prince Fielder, Brewers
"These last five games or so, we really need to win as many as possible, so for me to do that was pretty awesome."

Awesome might be understating it. Fielder, who was speaking after his walk-off homer against the Pirates on Tuesday that kept the Brew Crew's playoff hopes alive, has been better than awesome while many of his teammates have been struggling down the stretch. Fielder's game-winner jacked his batting average up to .412 with six homers and 17 RBIs during a 13-game hitting streak.
