Cedar Rapids Looks to Rebuild, Revitalize
BTF Cedar Rapids Ground Breaking

In 2009, the Baseball Tomorrow Fund awarded the city of Cedar Rapids with a grant of $75,000 for the construction of one PONY league field and the renovation of an existing regulation and youth/softball field. The renovation comes on the heels of a disastrous year for the city and surrounding communities.

The Baseball Tomorrow Fund (BTF) is a joint initiative between MLB and the MLB Players Association that was established in 1999 through a $10 million commitment. The mission is to promote and enhance the growth of youth participation in baseball and softball around the world by funding programs, fields, coaches' training, and the purchase of uniforms and equipment. BTF Asks Youth Baseball and Softball Organizations to Go Green

The Baseball Tomorrow Fund supports efforts to improve coaching on the youth baseball and softball level and strongly encourages youth organizations to enhance existing coaches training or implement a new program if not currently offered.

BTF Asks Youth Baseball and Softball Organizations to Go Green

The Baseball Tomorrow Fund encourages each youth baseball/softball organization to make a conscious effort to identify and implement strategies to make its facilities, programs and operations more environmentally-friendly.

With the help of the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the Baseball Tomorrow Fund has compiled guidelines to help youth baseball and softball leagues become more eco-friendly and sustainable.
