Fred Seymour

Fred Seymour joined Major League Baseball's Umpiring Department in 2007, assisting with its day-to-day operations. Fred entered baseball in 1993, working in scouting and player development roles with the Cleveland Indians. He worked in several capacities for the Boston Red Sox from 1996-1998 and again from 1999-2002, including as a manager in the club's public affairs department and also as general manager of the Sarasota Red Sox. Seymour has had a pair of stints as the director of baseball operations for the Arizona Fall League and served as assistant farm director of the Montreal Expos in 2002 and the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2004. Fred joined the Office of the Commissioner as coordinator of Minor League Records in January 2005. A graduate of Rollins College, where he played center field on the school's baseball team, Fred now lives in New Jersey.
