THIS WEEK IN BASEBALL PRESENTED BY PEPSI
SATURDAY, 3:30 p.m. ET ON FOX, SUNDAY, 1 ET, MLB NETWORK
This Week in Baseball, presented by Pepsi, heads overseas to see how C.J. Wilson, Prince Fielder, and Curtis Granderson travel the world as MLB Ambassadors. They later visit Oakland to help those affected by the tragic earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Japanese natives Hideki Matsui and Ichiro Suzuki talk about the impact this tragedy has had on them, and how they are helping their countrymen abroad in the recovery effort.
MLB Fan Cave stars Mike O'Hara and Ryan Wagner will watch every baseball game this season, and TWIB will keep track of their every move. Following that, TWIB again teams up with MLB Network for "Diamond Demos," as Al Leiter and Mike Piazza show us the keys to catching. The "Going All Out" features scrappy players and essential moments of the game, this week catching up with Ichiro Suzuki and delivering an exclusive look at him setting the record as Seattle's all-time hits leader. TWIB continues with "Big League Blast," "Rookies" and "Winning Road Trips." The show will close with the great plays and bloopers of the week in "How 'Bout That," featuring the track "End It Now" by The Lonely Forrest.
>This Week in Baseball also airs internationally in Canada, Australia, China, Japan, Vietnam, Central and South America, Caribbean (including Puerto Rico) and across Europe, with full episodes available here.
FROM THE FIELD
Crews in Ohio and New Jersey highlight the field production calendar this week. We are wrapping up production on Scotts presents MLB 2011: Fields of Play with a final stop in Cincinnati to get to know Reds head groundskeeper, Doug Gallant. Gallant has overseen all aspects of daily playing field maintenance since 2001. Later in the week, crews return home for interviews with MLB Network hosts Harold Reynolds and Larry Bowa for our upcoming Prime 9 episodes. Finally, we wrap up production on Letters from Jackie, our special looking into the private thoughts of Jackie Robinson, premiering on MLB Network on Saturday, April 16, at noon ET.
