Division Series umpire rotations announced
Major League Baseball has assigned the four umpiring crews that will work the American and National League Division Series scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Oct. 1, it was announced today.
For the National League Division Series, 32-year veteran Bruce Froemming and his crew will work Games 1, 2 and 5 of the NLDS between the St. Louis Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks and Games 3 and 4 of the NLDS involving the San Francisco Giants and Atlanta Braves. The other crew, headed by 26-year veteran Mike Reilly, has been assigned to work Games 1, 2 and 5 of the NLDS involving the Giants and Braves and Games 3 and 4 of the NLDS between the Cardinals and Diamondbacks.
Twenty-six-year veteran umpire Jerry Crawford will head the crew that will work Games 1, 2 and 5 of the American League Division Series involving the Anaheim Angels and New York Yankees and Games 3 and 4 of the ALDS between the Minnesota Twins and Oakland Athletics. Gerry Davis, a 19-year veteran, and his crew will work Games 1, 2 and 5 of the ALDS between the Twins and Athletics and Games 3 and 4 of the ALDS involving the Angels and Yankees.
The umpiring crews for each League Championship Series and the 98th World Series will be announced when they are assigned.
