Enhanced Gameday 2003

Don't you wish you could be there for every game your favorite team plays this season? Well, if you don't have tickets, grab your peanuts and popcorn and get comfortable, because MLB.com has the next best thing.

Entering its third season as the best way for fans to follow their favorite teams in action online, Gameday 2003 debuts this weekend with new features that make it easier to use and more informative than ever.

• Gameday 2003 starts with a new design and new graphics, utilizing state-of-the-art FlashMX technology that makes it even faster and more robust than before. You'll be able to follow the results of the game only seconds after they happen in the ballpark, and you'll never miss a pitch. ... Gameday gives you the latest updates for every pitch, every game, every night.

(If you don't have FlashMX, click here to download the most recent version.)

• Our live box score is updated throughout the game after every at-bat and play-by-play event, providing the most up-to-the-moment stats available anywhere on the Internet. If you want to know Vladimir Guerrero's season RBI total after a fifth-inning homer, we've got his most current stats.

• Our Play-by-Play tab has been enhanced to highlight scoring plays and allow greater flexibility in reviewing the events of any particular inning during the game. Pick out the key plays in the game as you scan the play-by-play by inning or for the entire game.

• To keep track of all the action around the league, we've added an out-of-town scoreboard with in-progress scores and updates on every game on the schedule for that night, including the score, inning, current batter and pitcher.

• Gameday Lite allows you to place a miniature scoreboard on your desktop so you can follow the results from around the league. Just click on it to launch the full Gameday for that game.

• Once the season is in full swing, we'll add situation-specific stats for the current batter vs. pitcher matchup so you can see who has the upper hand. When Mike Piazza faces Randy Johnson on a Friday night in Shea Stadium this summer, we'll let you know who has the edge based on the stats for both players in that situation.

If you can't be at the ballpark, enjoy a virtual box seat with Gameday, exclusively on MLB.com.
