Teams with a 3-0 Series lead are unbeaten
The Red Sox became the 21st ballclub to take a 3-0 advantage in the World Series and the 18th to seal the deal with a four-game sweep. The last team to win the first three games without completing the sweep was the Baltimore Orioles, who beat the Cincinnati Reds in five games in 1970. No team down 0-3 has ever taken the Series to six games.
