Angels look to regroup in New York
Angels (11-9) at Yankees (9-11), 4:05 p.m. PT
Jarrod Washburn would like to post a number on Wednesday, preferably a win and part of a regulation game.
The left-hander has made four starts this season and has not recorded a decision in any of them. All four have also gone extra innings, so Washburn would like to do his part.
In a strange pattern, Washburn has been roughed up only to see the Angels rally and win. But in the two starts that Washburn has posted a zero, the Angels have been unable to generate offense and ultimately lost.
It will be the first start for Washburn against the Yankees since 2002. In his career, Washburn is 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA at Yankee Stadium.
Right-hander Mike Mussina will start for New York.
