Hernandez shoots for 10th win
Washington (37-27) at Los Angeles (37-26), 10:05 p.m. ET
The Nationals' 10-game winning streak ended Monday, but Livan Hernandez still has an eight-decision winning streak. He'll try to defend it and extend it Tuesday night in Anaheim.
The Washington ace has made 10 consecutive quality starts, going 8-0 during that streak. He leads the National League in innings pitched and hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in a game since April 19. The Angels will counter with 22-year-old Ervin Santana. The live-armed right-hander was 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA in two May starts for the Halos and was 1-0 with a 4.19 ERA in three subsequent starts in Triple-A. Washington fell Monday, 11-1, as former Expo Vladimir Guerrero collected four hits and five RBIs. Esteban Loaiza (2-5) allowed nine hits and five runs in three-plus innings.
