The Tigers have announced that fans with hard-copy tickets for the American League Championship Series at Comerica Park that incorrectly read Tuesday, Oct. 17 instead of Sunday, Oct. 15, will need to get those tickets replaced.

The Tigers ticket office is trying to contact customers who received some of the limited number hard-copy tickets for ALCS Home Game 3 -- in this case, Game 5 of the series. The original tickets issued were printed with the wrong date, and they'll be null and void. The only hard-copy tickets that will be accepted at the park for Game 5 will say Home Game 3 and have the correct date of Oct. 15.

Customers who are affected are being contacted by phone and through e-mail, and new hard-copy tickets with the correct date have been sent out by mail. If those who bought the tickets have since distributed them to somebody else, the Tigers are trying to encourage them to notify those who have the tickets and get the corrected tickets to them.

Those who bought their tickets online and printed paper-copy tickets through TicketFast can still use their tickets, even if they have the wrong dates.

"Because people use the hard-copy tickets as memorabilia, we are making every effort to correct the situation to ensure historical authenticity and provide ALCS Home Game 3 hard-copy tickets with the correct date," Tigers senior vice president of business operations Duane McLean said. "We ask our fans for their patience and understanding."

As a reminder, the numbers for ALCS Home Games on the tickets will not correspond with the game of the series in general, since the first two games of the series are in Oakland. ALCS Home Game 1 is Game 3 of the series, set for Friday, Oct. 13. Home Game 2 is ALCS Game 4 on Saturday, Oct. 14, and so on.

Anyone with a Home Game 3 ticket who has questions can call the Tigers box office at 313-471-BALL.
