Fontenot, Theriot sit vs. Bucs
Infielders likely to return to lineup Wednesday
PITTSBURGH -- Cubs infielder Mike Fontenot was still limited to pinch-hitting Monday because of a bad back, but was expected to be available Wednesday.
Fontenot took grounders at second for the second straight day, and said he felt better.
Ryan Theriot did not start Monday because his hand was bothering him a little on Sunday, and also because Ronny Cedeno is 4-for-7 against Pirates starter Tom Gorzelanny. Theriot was 1-for-8 lifetime against the Pittsburgh lefty.
Scott Eyre, on the disabled list because of inflammation in his left elbow, underwent an MRI arthrogram last week to rule out a possible stress fracture. There is none, and Eyre was expected to resume his throwing program on Tuesday in Mesa, Ariz., at the team's extended Spring Training facility.
