SAN DIEGO -- Rajai Davis didn't stay in limbo for long.Designated for assignment by the Giants after last Saturday's game in St. Louis, the 27-year-old outfielder was claimed off waivers by the Oakland A's on Wednesday. "We'll have to change our signs," manager Bruce Bochy said with a wry smile, referring to the Giants' Interleague rivalry with Oakland. Davis, an oft-spectacular defender with above-average speed, impressed the Giants upon joining them from Pittsburgh in the Matt Morris trade last July 31. But Davis tended to chase bad pitches and was deemed expendable enough to be let go when the Giants decided to summon infielder Emmanuel Burriss from Triple-A Fresno. "He's talented," Bochy said of Davis, who hit .056 (1-for-18) and was 4-for-4 in stolen-base attempts in 12 games with the Giants before being let go. "We just needed more depth in the infield."
