Astros wives to host annual charity gala
Proceeds from event to benefit Houston Area Women's Center
For nearly two decades, Astros wives have raised millions for The Houston Area Women's Center, which helps countless survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
The Annual Astros Wives "Black Ties and Baseball Caps" Gala, a night of mixing and mingling between Astros players and front-office executives and fans, will take place on July 31 on the field at Minute Maid Park. All proceeds go to the Women's Center.
This year's gala, the 19th annual, will be co-chaired by Marcia Geary, wife of reliever Geoff Geary, and Heather Sampson, wife of starting pitcher Chris Sampson. Club owner Drayton McLane and his wife, Elizabeth, will be honored as special guests.
The evening will include a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions and a dinner. Individual tickets can be purchased for $400, and table prices are as follows: $4,000 "Home Run" table of 10; $5,000 Silver Slugger table of 10; $10,000 Gold Glove table of 10 and $25,000 All-Star table of 12.
All-Star, Diamond, Gold Glove and Silver Slugger tables have the opportunity to select a player and his wife and/or guest to be seated at their table. Player requests are granted first by level of sponsorship and second in the order received.
