Tulowitzki, who was injured on April 29 against the Giants, was originally expected to return to the Rockies sometime around the All-Star break. However, he has healed faster than expected and has been working out and fielding ground balls with Colorado.
Unlike sluggers Matt Holliday and Brad Hawpe, who spent three days rehabbing hamstring injuries at Triple-A Colorado Springs before returning to the Rockies, Hurdle said there's no timetable for Tulowitzki's return because of the nature of his injury.
"After that long of an injury being down, I think it's appropriate to get him some at-bats and start him off where we are," Hurdle said. "If all that goes well maybe we can send him to Colorado Springs to get him some at-bats."
