Red Sox sign nine Draft picks
Six will report to Lowell, the other three to Gulf Coast League
CINCINNATI -- The Red Sox have announced the signing of nine picks from last week's First-Year Player Draft.
Included in the group are five pitchers, two second basemen, a shortstop and an outfielder.
Left-handers Robert McClain and Mitchell Herold, second basemen Jonathan Hee and Zach Gentile, and right-handers Seth Garrison and Alexander Hale will all report to Class A Lowell this week as the Spinners begin another season in the New York-Penn League.
Another three -- outfielder Andrew Frezza, shortstop Thomas DiBenedetto and right-hander Jeremy Kehrt -- will head to the Gulf Coast League to begin their professional careers.
The Red Sox also announced the signing of non-drafted free agent left-hander Michael Tomoleoni out of Barry University. He will also head to the Gulf Coast League.
