Perkins heads home with wife in labor
Left-hander still expects to start Monday's game vs. Yankees
KANSAS CITY -- Twins pitcher Glen Perkins arrived in Minneapolis early Sunday morning to be with his wife, who was beginning to enter labor.
Perkins left the team late Saturday night, but expects to be able to pitch Monday -- his next scheduled to start. However, he could miss it if the labor takes longer than expected.
"He's going to take care of the wife," manager Ron Gardenhire said, "and that's all that matters."
