While the Mets secured Carlos Delado's services for 2009, Pedro Martinez was among six Mets who filed for free agency Friday.

The group includes outfielder Moises Alou, second baseman Ramon Martinez and pitchers Tony Armas Jr., Luis Ayala and Ricardo Rincon.

They join Oliver Perez, Damion Easley and Matt Wise, who filed for free agency on Thursday.

Martinez signed a four-year contract with the Mets on Dec. 17, 2004, after helping the Red Sox win the 2004 World Series. He's been limited to a combined 25 starts over the past two seasons, going 5-6 in 2008 with a 5.61 ERA.

Alou is also coming off a season shortened by injuries, appearing in just 15 games for the Mets in 2008. He played in only 102 games during his two-year career in Queens.

Ayala, who was acquired from the Nationals on Aug. 17, went 1-2 with a 5.50 ERA and nine saves in 11 chances in 19 games with the Mets. Rincon appeared in eight games for New York in 2008, while Armas made three appearances. Ramon Martinez played in seven games, batting .250 with no homers and three RBIs.
