Have bat, will travel.

This is the calling card of an impressive array of free-agent sluggers, men whose familiar names will be featured prominently at the Major League Winter Meetings in Las Vegas starting on Monday.

The list features Manny Ramirez and Mark Teixeira, two of the game's dominant offensive forces. After setting off second-half fireworks for the Los Angeles franchises, Ramirez with the Dodgers and Teixeira with the Angels, both are primed to command at least $20 million a year over multiple years. The commitment could approach a decade in Teixeira's case if agent Scott Boras' fondest desires are met.

Boras, quarterbacking the Ramirez and Teixeira negotiations, will be a magnet in Sin City, but he won't be the only wheeler-dealer in demand.

Agents representing the likes of Adam Dunn, Bobby Abreu, Pat Burrell, Raul Ibanez, Milton Bradley, Jason Giambi, Ken Griffey Jr., Casey Blake and Rocco Baldelli will be making the rounds. Completing the Dynamic Dozen is another Boras client, Garret Anderson.

While Ramirez and Teixeira are the big-ticket items coming off matching 121-RBI seasons, three other 100-RBI men from 2008 are available: Dunn, Abreu and Ibanez. Dunn, a power plant, did it with 40 homers, reaching that plateau for the fifth consecutive season while dividing time with the Reds and Diamondbacks. Abreu and Ibanez are slashers who hit for average as well as power.

A living legend, Griffey, is available, while Burrell brings to the table a World Series title along with career 162-game season averages of 31 homers and 103 RBIs along with a .367 on-base percentage. In terms of consistency and versatility, few approach Anderson, the most productive offensive player in Angels history. Giambi? Blast off. Bradley, if he can remain reasonably healthy, brings discipline and muscle to any lineup. Blake offers muscle and experience at the hot corner, while Baldelli is the wild card in the deck, a five-tool talent if he can return to form at age 27.

Sizing up the big offensive mammals in the free-agent pool ...

MANNY RAMIREZ
Teams interested: Dodgers, Angels, Yankees, Phillies, Giants, Orioles, Mets, Blue Jays

Latest chatter: Ramirez, uncharacteristically, has been in the background in the early stages of the free-agent season with CC Sabathia and Teixeira commanding most of the attention. But worry not for Ramirez; he figures to get his share of action before the smoke clears from the back rooms of Team Boras.

What is he waiting for? Ramirez can afford to hang back and see which teams decide why he is simply irresistible, whether it's his hometown Yankees with their brand new park, one of the L.A. clubs hungry for postseason riches, the Phillies -- scary thought in that park and lineup -- or a darkhorse emerging from the shadows with hefty bags of loot.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... the sky falls and Team Boras makes a swift decision -- or if Teixeira signs and one of the losers in those sweepstakes reacts quickly to snap him up.

MARK TEIXEIRA
Teams interested: Angels, Red Sox, Orioles, Yankees, Nationals

Latest chatter: Teixeira, who figures to set the market and trigger a domino effect, says he'd like to have a decision by Christmas. If form holds with Boras, that might be wishful thinking. If Tex really does love Southern California, he might not get a higher bid elsewhere. But if the pull home to the East Coast is irresistible, he'll have no shortage of options, including his hometown Orioles with their inviting ballpark.

What is he waiting for? Perhaps a sign from a higher authority -- and we don't mean Boras. Teixeira is very methodical and workmanlike in everything he does, so this never figured to be a quick or easy process.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... he decides he knows exactly where he wants to be and informs Boras to make the best deal possible, which seems highly unlikely.

ADAM DUNN
Teams interested: Nationals, Mariners, Cubs, Rays, Angels

Latest chatter: His appeal, already high in some places where homers and walks are in high demand, has been enhanced by the Diamondbacks' decision not to offer arbitration, meaning no compensatory Draft picks are required.

What is he waiting for? Teixeira's signing would bring more clubs into play, particularly in the American League, where he could be a designated hitter.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... someone steps up and swings from the heels, like he does, and connects.

BOBBY ABREU
Teams interested: Cubs, Mets, Yankees, Rays

Latest chatter: He'll be 35 on Opening Day, and he's still good for 20 homers, 20 steals, lots of walks and good defense, but he's not in the $16 million class (his 2008 salary) any longer. The Yankees' decision not to offer arbitration indicates that a lucrative, long-term deal might not be there for Abreu.

What is he waiting for? What he might not get: three years in the $40 million range.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... a club decides he completes its lineup and makes the investment.

RAUL IBANEZ
Teams interested: Cubs and Mets, primarily. Mariners offered salary arbitration but realistically couldn't expect him to return for one year.

Latest chatter: Most recently, Lou Piniella called Ibanez a "professional hitter" who would fit into the Cubs lineup rather nicely. Otherwise, very quiet for such a loud bat.

What is he waiting for? He'll hope for a three-year deal in the $36 million range to carry him into retirement. He is one of many outfielders available, and at age 36, probably isn't the guy most teams are targeting right now.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... about a half-dozen players sign first, which is not likely. Patience will be his best virtue.

PAT BURRELL
Teams interested: Cubs, Mets, Rays, Phillies, Giants

Latest chatter: The Phillies appear focused on pitching and seem prepared to let their slugging left fielder walk after not offering arbitration, which makes him more appealing for clubs not wanting to forfeit a high Draft pick.

What is he waiting for? The right club, the right situation. With his Northern California roots, he'd no doubt love to see the power-hungry Giants step up.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... that right club surfaces with the right stuff.

GARRET ANDERSON
Teams interested: Angels, Cubs, Mets, Yankees, Rays

Latest chatter: It has been quiet for one of the quietest stars in the game over the past 14 years. The Angels did not close the door on his return but did not, as expected, offer arbitration after not picking up his $11 option for next season.

What is he waiting for? Clubs need to grasp how much he still has to offer at 36 coming off another highly productive season, ranking second on the club in RBIs and getting 593 plate appearances, his most since 2005.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... someone unexpectedly presents an offer he can't refuse.

MILTON BRADLEY
Teams interested: Blue Jays, Rays, Rangers, Nationals

Latest chatter: His history with injuries and anger management are scaring off clubs that would otherwise have high interest in a highly professional switch-hitter who gets on base and thrives in pressure situations.

What is he waiting for? A team to roll the dice on a man who can be a force but only once, in 2004, has made it through an entire season.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... the gambling spirit hits somebody in Las Vegas.

JASON GIAMBI
Teams interested: A's, Jays

Latest chatter: Four homers away from 400, Giambi returning to his original Oakland home to finish with a flourish in partnership with Matt Holliday -- Bash Brothers II, anyone? -- would make for a great story.

What is he waiting for? The A's or Jays -- hey, maybe even the Rays -- to envision those big blasts and home-plate celebrations.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... the A's decide he's their man and get it done.

KEN GRIFFEY JR.
Teams interested: Mariners, White Sox

Latest chatter: If Ibanez departs, Junior could slide into his role and serve as a model for younger Mariners -- or the Sox could bring him back in a fourth-OF/DH type role.

What is he waiting for? A club to decide it has a place for a legendary player on his way to Cooperstown as a drawing card and positive influence on teammates.

. He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... someone decides it can use a touch of class with a bat that still has some pop.

CASEY BLAKE
Teams interested: Dodgers, Twins, Indians.

Latest chatter: Unless someone emerges from the shadows, it looks like a three-way duel between clubs trying to determine exactly how much they're willing to deliver for a quality player.

What is he waiting for? A three-year deal to present itself.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... a three-year deal presents itself.

ROCCO BALDELLI
Teams interested: Rays, Red Sox, Yankees, Phillies

Latest chatter: His late-season mashing for the Rays seems to have convinced some people that he could come back and be that slugging outfielder everyone envisioned before injuries and health issues knocked him down -- but apparently not out.

What is he waiting for? The right team to make him an offer he can't refuse.

He'll sign during the Winter Meetings if ... he decides where he wants to be and that team steps forward with a reasonable offer.
