Perez cycles as Tigres crush Aguilas

Former Major Leaguer Timo Perez hit for the cycle as the Tigres improved to 6-4 in round-robin play. Perez homered to left field in the fourth inning, singled in the sixth, tripled in the seventh and doubled in the eighth.
Perez hit .302 with 30 doubles, 13 homers and 63 RBIs for Detroit's Triple-A affiliate Toledo in 2008. The Dominican native has a .269 career average with 26 homers and 185 RBIs in 603 Major League games.
Erick Aybar (Angels) contributed four RBIs and Jose Bautista (Blue Jays) homered, doubled, plated three runs and scored three times for Licey.
Kelly Ramos scored both runs for Cibaenas, which fell to 2-7. Box score
Gigantes 4, Azucareros 1
Kendry Morales (Angels) fell a triple shy of the cycle and had two RBIs as Cibao won its third straight round-robin game. The Gigantes lead the field with a 7-3 postseason record.

Braves infielder Martin Prado walked and scored the go-ahead run on an error in the top of the 12th inning as the Tigres edged the Aguilas. Twins right-hander Johan Pino tossed two scoreless frames to pick up the win for Aragua, which improved to 3-3 in round-robin play.
Claudio Galva yielded three hits and struck out three over seven scoreless innings and Alberto Callaspo (Royals) blasted a two-run homer for Zulia (2-3). Box score

Robert Perez homered, drove in three runs and scored twice and Tomas Perez (Astros) doubled twice, had two RBIs and two runs scored as the Cardenales boosted their round-robin record to 4-2 with their second straight win.
Franklin Gutierrez (Mariners) smacked a home run and two doubles and scored three times for Caracas, which fell to 3-3 in the postseason. Box score

Two-time Mexican League All-Star Rafael Diaz tossed a six-hitter with seven strikeouts and Victor Bojorquez ripped a two-run single as the Caneros blanked the Aguilas to clinch the best-of-7 series, 4-2.
Derrick White went 3-for-4 and was the only Mexicali batter with more than one hit. Box score

Jose Luis Sandoval slugged a three-run homer and former Major Leaguer Geronimo Gil hit a solo shot as the Naranjeros beat the Algodoneros to clinch the best-of-7 series, 4-2.
