Six-run fifth lifts Dominicans over Fish
Reyes, Olivo triple off Marlins pitching in Classic tune-up

Dominican Republic at the plate: Hanley Ramirez had two singles and a sacrifice fly. Jose Reyes had a triple, single, stolen base and two runs scored. In a six-run fifth, Alex Rodriguez laced a double and scored on David Ortiz's RBI single. Miguel Olivo added a two-run triple that inning, when 10 batters came to the plate. Jose Bautista was 4-for-6 with two RBIs.
Marlins at the plate: For the third straight game, Jeremy Hermida went deep, his two-out homer in the second inning giving Florida a 1-0 lead. He added a single in the fifth inning. Emilio Bonifacio added a single in the sixth.
Dominican Republic on the mound: Edinson Volquez worked two efficient innings, throwing 35 pitches, 19 of them strikes. The only baserunner he allowed was Hermida, who homered. In relief, Rafael Perez struck out three and retired all six batters he faced in two innings.
Marlins on the mound: Eulogio De La Cruz, a Dominican Republic native, started and threw two scoreless innings. The right-hander worked out of first-and-second situations in both of his innings, logging 53 pitches. He struck out two and walked one. Ryan Tucker worked 2 2/3 innings of relief. He got into trouble in his third inning, giving up three runs on four hits. Lefty Taylor Tankersley allowed three runs on three hits in one-third of an inning.
Up next: The Dominican squad travels to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to take on the Orioles on Wednesday afternoon at 1:05 ET. Johnny Cueto will pitch against Baltimore's Koji Uehara. The Marlins face Italy's World Baseball Classic team on Wednesday at 1:05 p.m. at Roger Dean Stadium. Josh Johnson will start for Florida.
