BRADENTON, Fla. -- Outfielder John Rodriguez, a non-roster invite to Yankees Spring Training camp, had to leave Saturday's split-squad game against the Pirates in the top of the eighth inning after being hit in the right wrist by a pitch from reliever Donnie Veal.

After the game, a Yankees spokesperson reported Rodriguez's injury to be a bruised right wrist. He is listed as day-to-day.

Rodriguez entered the game in the bottom of the sixth and walked and scored a run in his only other plate appearance. He came into Saturday's contest 5-for-16 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

Rodriguez was one of four players -- two from each club -- to be hit by pitches in the Yankees' 13-10 win. New York's Austin Jackson was plunked in the ninth but was able to remain in the game.
